Our Founding Convention is this coming Friday from 5-8. We’re getting excited. We need you to come, and to spread the word so all of your friends and family come, too! There will be childcare and Spanish interpretation, so that more people will be able to participate.
Also, if you’re not able to arrive right at 5 PM, that’s okay. You are welcome to come when you can. We know that the timing is going to be right after work for many people, so we are taking that into account in our scheduling.
Register here to let us know you’ll be there!
Last Friday, Faith in Action Alabama held a 12-hour vigil against mass incarceration at the Jefferson County Courts from 7am to 7pm. It was an amazing day standing in witness against mass incarceration and listening to testimonies and struggle against systemic racism.
Here are a few images from the event. If you’d like to learn more about how private prison corporations are creeping into Alabama and how this perpetuates systemic racism and injustice, join us for FIAA’s Founding Convention next week.
